Lawn Watering Restrictions Begin

15 Sep 2026 From May 15 - Sept. 15, please adhere to the City's guidelines for watering in order to conserve our water supply. Watering hours are between 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Branch Collection for Zip Code 60018

DPFD CPR Class

26 Sep 2026 The Des Plaines Fire Department is providing the opportunity to learn CPR. We offer two CPR courses designed by the American Heart Association (AHA). These courses teach first responders to effectively recognize and treat medical emergencies during the first critical minutes prior to emergency medical service personnel arrival.

Pumpkin Smash

In partnership with the Des Plaines Park District, the City is hosting the Pumpkin Smash composting event on Saturday, November 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the north parking lot of Prairie Lakes Community Center (515 E. Thacker St.).
