Contractor License & Bond Requirements
Contractors working in the city are required to register as contractors with the city. All registrations expire on December 31st and will need to be renewed. Review the list of basic requirements below.
Apply online with our Customer Self-Service Portal (CSS). Follow this link and click the "Login or Register" tile. Sign up for an account here using your email address. Once registered with the CSS system, you will be able to select the contractor type and begin the registration process.

$20,000 Bond is required for any contractor doing work on City Property and/or the right-of-way. A bond is not required from State of Illinois licensed contractors doing work in the right-of-way.
