Public Nuisance Notice

Per Title 5, Chapter 5 of the City of Des Plaines Municipal Code, it is hereby declared a public nuisance for any owner or person in control of any lot or tract of land within the City to:

• Allow any weeds, grass or plants other than trees, bushes, flowers, vegetables or other ornamental plants to grow to a height in excess of six (6") inches on such lot or tract of land.
• Allow any noxious weed as defined in the municipal code to grow and is required to cut, pull or otherwise destroy such weeds at least monthly between May 1 and October 1 of each year.

After due notice, the City may take appropriate actions to recover any cost in abating the growth of noxious weeds or grass in excess of six (6”) inches in height.
