This summer has brought dangerously hot conditions and heat index values near 100 degrees expected. Cooling centers are available in the City of Des Plaines:

- Frisbie Senior Center at 52 E. Northwest Hwy open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (847-768-5944)
- Prairie Lakes Community Center at 515 E. Thacker open from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. (847-391-5711)
- Des Plaines Public Library at 1501 Ellinwood St. from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (847-827-5551)

Cook County has identified more cooling centers in the area. Remember to limit your time outside, stay hydrated, and wear light clothing! Stay up to date on the forecast via the National Weather Service.
